Sex Offense

Sex Offenses are typically categorized as Class A, Class B or Class C felonies in Washington State. In addition to the standard sentencing range, some sex offenders are subject to the Indeterminate Sentence Review Board. This could potentially entail life imprisonment. Some clients who have no prior violent or sexual convictions are eligible for a special sex offender sentencing alternative (SSOSA) where they serve local jail time and thereafter participate in a treatment program whereby avoiding a lengthy prison sentence. Sex offenses include (but are not limited to) the following offenses:

  • ANY FELONY OFFENSE COMMITTED WITH SEXUAL MOTIVATION
  • CHILD MOLESTATION
  • COMMUNICATING WITH A MINOR FOR IMMORAL PURPOSES
  • DEALING IN PICTURES OF A MINOR ENGAGED IN SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONDUCT
  • FAILING TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER (2ND OR SUBSEQUENT VIOLATION)
  • INCEST
  • INDECENT LIBERTIES
  • RAPE
  • SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR
  • SEXUAL MISCONDUCT WITH A MINOR
  • VOYEURISM
